Adolescent Health Educator (Kanawha)

Position Overview: As a THINK Educator, you will play a vital role in delivering impactful education on teen pregnancy prevention and healthy relationships. You’ll utilize evidenced based curricula to empower students with knowledge and skills, fostering a safe and supportive learning environment. 

 

What You'll Do: 

• Engage & Inspire: Deliver age-appropriate, trauma-informed instruction that resonates with teens, utilizing medically accurate strategies, in middle and high school settings. 

• Data Management: Keep track of enrollment forms, attendance, assessments, and referrals in our THINK data system, ensuring all information is accurate and up to date. 

• Community Outreach: Collaborate with the Program Manager to identify middle and high schools, and community sites for our educational initiatives. 

• Beyond the Classroom: Present engaging topics on teen health to students, parents, and community members, promoting awareness and dialogue. 

• Continuous Learning: Attend national and state trainings to stay informed and improve your skills. 

 

What We’re Looking For: 

• Qualifications: A Bachelor’s degree in Health, Sociology, Social Work, Human Services, Education, or a related field is preferred. Relevant experience in leading or instructing groups is essential. A valid driver’s license and vehicle insurance are required. 

• Skills: 

• Computer proficiency, with a willingness to learn new data management systems. 

• Ability to connect with individuals from diverse backgrounds and maintain strong professional relationships with colleagues, school staff, and community partners. 

• Strong instructional and training abilities, with a capacity for both independent work and teamwork. 

 

Additional Details: 

• Work Environment: This position is based in school settings, and in our Hurricane office or home office in the off season. Some teleworking options may be available, following company policy. 

• Travel Requirements: Statewide travel may be necessary, along with occasional national and overnight travel.
