Esports Competition Lab Attendant

Position Title: Esports Competition Lab Attendant 

Organization: Division of Student Affairs 

Department: Campus Recreation 

Hourly Wage: $10.15 

Average Hours/Week: 8-12, additional hours scheduled as needed 

Supervisor: Esports Specialist 

General Purpose: The Esports Competition Lab Attendant is responsible for maintaining the esports lab, assisting with event overseeing, and providing support to students participating in the IU Indy Esports and Gamers Hall programs. This role ensures a high-quality gaming experience and smooth operation of the facility.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Maintain gaming PCs, consoles, and peripherals.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues promptly.
  • Ensure all equipment is in optimal working condition.
  • Provide support to students, answering questions and resolving issues.
  • Manage check-ins and registrations for events and lab usage.
  • Ensure a welcoming and inclusive environment for all participants.
  • Keep the esports lab clean, organized, and secure.
  • Report any maintenance or custodial needs to the appropriate department.
  • Monitor lab usage to ensure compliance with facility rules and guidelines.

Minimum Qualifications: 

  • Must be a current full-time student at IU Indianapolis. Work-study
    is preferred.
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong knowledge of gaming equipment and esports titles is a plus.
