Lab Assistant
Position Overview:
We are seeking responsible and enthusiastic lab assistants to support our laboratory courses during the upcoming spring semester. Lab assistants play a key role in enhancing the learning experience for other students by offering guidance, ensuring safety, and assisting instructors with various tasks. This is an excellent opportunity for students interested in gaining hands-on experience in a laboratory setting while strengthening their communication and teamwork skills.
Responsibilities:
• Be present during the posted lab period to assist with the smooth operation of the laboratory.
• Help students with questions related to lab procedures, equipment, and experiments.
• Perform light grading tasks as assigned by the instructor.
• Ensure safety protocols are followed and report any issues to the instructor promptly.
• Clean-up and breakdown of labs when finished.
• Support the instructor with additional tasks as needed.
Qualifications:
• Completion of the lab course you will be assisting with is preferred but not required.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• A responsible, attentive, and helpful attitude.
• Ability to work collaboratively with instructors and students.
• Punctuality and reliability are essential.
Schedule and Availability: Most lab assistants are expected to be available weekly during the scheduled lab periods, typically from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM unless otherwise noted. Please confirm your availability during these times when applying.

CHEM162 with Dr. Overway
CHEM250 with Dr. Sehgal (1-3 and 3-5)
BIOL433 with Dr. Bolyard
Thursdays:
CHEM 161 with Dr. Sehgal
CHEM 310 with Dr. Otoo
