Overview:
Loop It Up Savannah is a youth arts and educational enrichment organization that brings arts-integrated learning to more than 10,000 young people across the Savannah area each year. Loop It Up believes in an empowered Savannah through creativity, kindness, and love
- Mission Statement: Loop It Up Savannah collaborates with schools and community partners to offer original arts-integrated programming designed to foster personal well-being, creative problem solving, and academic success among the young people of Savannah.
Internship Description:
- Savannah’s Gardening Program:
Loop It Up Savannah has an extensive gardening program that supports gardens in 30 public schools through hands-on learning, curriculum development, and on the ground support.
- Key Responsibilities:
- Garden Maintenance: Support the planning, planting, and maintenance of school gardens to create a healthy and productive growing environment. Responsibilities include soil preparation, planting, watering, weeding, and harvesting.
- Educational Support: Collaborate with Loop It Up garden educators to develop and implement engaging curriculum-based gardening activities for students. Facilitate hands-on learning experiences that align with educational standards and promote environmental stewardship.
- Research and Development: Research and develop materials on special topics such as native trees, culturally significant crops, various growing methods.. Etc.
- Documentation and Reporting: Assist in the preparation of reports and presentations to showcase program successes and impact.

Qualifications:
- Strong interest in gardening, sustainability, and education.
- Experience with gardening, farming, or related hands-on activities is preferred.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with students, educators, and community members.
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and lift moderately heavy materials as needed.

- Occasionally includes reaching above shoulder heights, below the waist and bending / lifting up to 25 pounds for office equipment, supplies and materials
