Founding Elementary Teacher

Heights Academy is a new elementary school launching in 2025 to serve families in Greater Cleveland. The school will begin serving learners in grades K-2 and expand to Pre-K-5 in the years ahead. Heights Academy takes a mastery-based (advance when you are ready) and holistic approach toward learning (discovery, play, and exploration) with daily learning experiences designed to equip students with the knowledge, skills, and values to accomplish great things in a safe, nurturing, environment.

What we offer: As a founding educator, you play a critical role in shaping the trajectory of the school, and children's educational journeys, as well as redefining what an excellent, accessible education looks like in Northeast Ohio.  Our model is built with opportunities for your role to evolve and for you to grow and advance professionally.

This role may not be a good fit for you if:

  • Are uncomfortable in a fast-paced, dynamic setting. As a small startup, we constantly learn, grow, and improve to offer the best education for each child and family we serve. Coaching, feedback, and a relentless focus on growth are at the core of what we do.
  • Prefer a traditional teaching approach. Your role is much closer to how a personal trainer works with clients- customizing and individualizing their support and creating the conditions for them to grow- than a traditional “sage on the stage” teacher.
  • Are comfortable with how things are in our education system. We take a bold, fresh approach to education that challenges conventional norms (time as the constant, grade levels, rigid schedules, learning content in isolation) to unlock every student’s potential
