Wedding Coordination Intern

The Angeles District has an exciting opportunity for a summer internship within the Special Events Office! If you are interested in learning more about wedding coordination, operations, and logistics, this is a great opportunity for you! The ideal candidate will be able to start early March 2025 and will finish their internship program mid-August. Start and end dates are flexible with the option to extend until November. Hours will vary week-to-week depending on workload, but candidates can expect 20-40 hours per week with the possibility for occasional overtime. Reporting location is the Historic Adamson House and Malibu Lagoon State Beach. 

The Wedding Coordination Intern will work closely with the Wedding Operations Coordinator to schedule, plan, and facilitate weddings at the Historic Adamson House. Built by Rhoda Ringe Adamson and her husband Meritt Adamson in 1929, the Adamson House preserves a unique piece of Malibu and California history. Successful candidates in this role will be interested in historical preservation, cultural resource conservation, as well as hospitality. 

Duties Will Include: 

Meeting with possible wedding couples to show them the venue, clearly explaining the guidelines and providing information about the house and its history. 

Communicating efficiently with wedding couples to help them abide by the guidelines and restrictions. 

Maintaining accurate financial records and processing payments. 

Ensuring all supplemental wedding documents are correct and received in a timely manner. 

Developing strong working relationships with key partners. 

Utilizing interpretive enforcement to communicate the rules and regulations of the park to the public. 

Managing potential public safety concerns related to resources and resource protection. 

Helping to ensure all park facilities are neat, clean, and in working order to the standards set forth in the permit. 

Monitoring weddings on Saturdays and Sundays to ensure wedding couple abides by the permit guidelines. 

Assisting team leads with resolving issues that arise during weddings by providing ideas and solutions. 

Requirements: 

The ability to drive a state vehicle is required, and the incumbent may, under supervision, utilize power tools. 

The ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays is required. This position frequently works long hours (10–12-hour days). Overtime eligible. 

Compensation: 

Starting pay is $16.87/hour. Overtime is paid after 40 hours worked per week (Sunday – Saturday).
