Student Assistant Internship (Dedicated Support: Sector C), Ref# 8456

Minimum Qualifications

• Must be a US citizen or foreign national eligible to work in the United States
• Must be 18 years of age or older
• Must be currently attending a New York State college, university or graduate program, or be a resident of New York State attending a college, university or graduate program outside of New York State
• Must have completed a minimum of one (1) year as a student at a degree-granting two or four-year college or university (completion of one year’s worth of academic credits over a more extended period of time may qualify part-time students) OR currently enrolled graduate student or accepted in a graduate degree program
• Must have a minimum grade point average (GPA) of 2.0 or equivalent to a C.

 

Duties Description

Under the direction of the Director of Client Engagement and/or Portfolio Deputy Executive Director, the Student Assistant will be assigned to the Labor, Workforce and Education portfolio (LWE) within the Chief Portfolio Office and will be a critical member of the LWE Change Management team, or the Customer Relations Manager team.

Duties include, but are not limited to: 
• Participate in day-to-day IT operations and service delivery, supporting one or more ITS client agencies. 
• Participate in the agency IT governance process, facilitate ITSM project new ideas and demands as part of the standard project work intake process. 
• Assist with ITS site consultation work intake for agency site moves, network and telecom upgrades by collaborating with the appropriate ITS teams, gathering relevant information and submitting ITSM requests on behalf of client agencies. 
• Participate in the standard incident management process, escalating incidents and gathering information related to business impact 
• Supporting the LWE Change Manager to ensure the standard change management process is being adhered to for all LWE Agencies 
• Coordinating ITS and agency testing activities during standard business hours. 
• Create and run reports in ITSM as appropriate 
• Preparing notifications to the CRMs and/or the Change Advisory Board for changes that will be impactful 
• Collaborating with the appropriate ITS teams, gathering relevant information and submitting ITSM requests on behalf of client agencies.
