Electrical Engineer--Materials

Title: Electrical Engineer —Materials
Department: NASCENTechnology, Inc., Watertown, SD
Reports to: VP/GM NASCENTechnology
Job Objective:
This position will work on NASCENTechnology’s new product development team utilizing Low Temperature Co-fired Ceramic (LTCC) and ferrite materials, developing multilayer ceramic transformer, inductor, and module designs using cast ferrite tape systems and LTCC processing methods. 
Responsibilities:
  • Utilize Ansoft Finite Element Analysis software to model and predict the performance of new transformer and inductor designs using new raw materials properties made available by suppliers.
  • Review new transformer and inductor product target specifications as a part of the new product development team and document required target specifications for new raw materials needed to meet these new product specifications.
  • Collaborate with suppliers to develop new material formulations, qualification and production phase-in plans for ferrite LTCC materials, conductor inks, and dielectric paste systems.
  • Continuously research the current state of the art in low temperature fired ferrites, taking advantage of new discoveries to improve product offerings.
  • Develop and ensure all incoming inspection systems are in place for new materials and provide guidance on incoming inspection of existing materials.
  • Solve complex product problems at the system (material interaction) as well as component (single material) levels.
  • Collaborate with NASCENTechnology design engineering and marketing to identify new project goals and economically justify project budgets.
  • Research and identify potential new suppliers of ferrite based raw materials.
  • Collaborate with NASCENTechnology Manufacturing to improve production yields and product reliability when needed.
  • Candidate will work closely with manufacturing and business development teams to ensure that projects are on time and within budget.
 
 
Job Requirements:
BS in Electrical Engineering with electronic materials emphasis or other Engineering degree with materials or physics emphasis.
Must Be a U.S. citizen or Permanent U.S. Resident.
