We hold leadership positions in Duchenne muscular dystrophy (DMD) and limb-girdle muscular dystrophies (LGMDs), and we currently have more than 40 programs in various stages of development in gene therapy, RNA and gene editing. In 2023, we launched our fourth therapy and the first ever gene therapy to treat Duchenne.

Program Timeline
This application is for a 12-week summer internship program that will start on May 19th and conclude on August 8th, 2025.
The Importance of the Role
The summer intern within the Analytical Development group at the Columbus, OH site will get the chance to actively participate and contribute to the development of new assays for the characterization of AAV gene therapy products using state-of-the-art technologies and approaches. The highly collaborative environment of Sarepta Therapeutics will expose the intern to the nature of the job of multiple teams, departments, and leadership in getting therapeutic molecules from research to the clinic.
The Opportunity to Make a Difference
- Support the design, execution, and analysis of AAV
- Document and interpret data to support analytical development and characterization of AAV
- The intern will be exposed to state-of-the-art approaches, equipment, and facilities
- The intern will help design and execute experiments and perform analytical assays such as CE, ddPCR, qPCR, ELISA, and HPLC
- The intern will be responsible for accurate notebook recording of experimental details and for analysis and interpretation of data
- Participate in project related teams
- Contribute to a safe, efficient, and effective environment with personal accountability
More about You
- The candidate should be enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program with a major in Biochemistry, Biology, Bioengineering, or a related discipline of study
- At a minimum, summer interns should have completed their freshman year in college
- Highly motivated and passionate about the biopharmaceutical industry and learning about industry technology
- High degree of initiative and attention to detail
- Able to work under supervision and independently
- Good written and verbal communication skills as well as strong interpersonal skills
- Proven record of teamwork, adaptability, problem-solving skills, innovation, and integrity

This position requires work on site at one of Sarepta’s facilities in the United States.
The targeted salary range for this position is $21 - $25 per hour depending upon years of education completed and nature of role.
