Immunology Research Intern

We hold leadership positions in Duchenne muscular dystrophy (DMD) and limb-girdle muscular dystrophies (LGMDs), and we currently have more than 40 programs in various stages of development in gene therapy, RNA and gene editing. In 2023, we launched our fourth therapy and the first ever gene therapy to treat Duchenne.

Program Timeline

This application is for a 12-week summer internship program that will start on May 19th and conclude on August 8th, 2025.

The Importance of the Role 

The Research Intern role offers an unparalleled opportunity to immerse yourself in the dynamic and impactful field of immunology. As an intern, you'll gain hands-on exposure to cutting-edge experiments in our Immunology lab, where innovation meets precision. Working closely under the direction of experienced lab members, you'll assist in conducting research experiments, collecting and verifying critical data, and contributing to projects that push the boundaries of scientific discovery.

In this role, you'll build technical skills while sharpening your organization and analysis abilities by managing materials, maintaining equipment, documenting results, and tracking inventory. This internship is more than a learning experience—it’s a chance to contribute to groundbreaking immunological research and gene therapy advancements.

The Opportunity to Make a Difference

  • Work on site to assist lab members in assays to support the immunology team’s role in research and development studies
  • Participate in a variety of laboratory operation and demonstrate organizational skills
  • Document experiments and maintain inventory
  • Participate in the cross-functional team meetings and projects
  • Attend seminars and lectures, read and discuss literature articles

More about You 

  • At a minimum, summer interns must have completed their freshman year of college
  • Documentation of observations and data analyses with attention to detail.
  • Demonstrates problem solving ability, and strong interpersonal, oral and written communication skills
  • Operate as part of a team and assists fellow lab members in providing a functional, safe working environment while maximizing laboratory efficiency

This position requires work on site at one of Sarepta’s facilities in the United States.

The targeted salary range for this position is $21 - $25 per hour depending upon years of education completed and nature of role.

Candidates must be authorized to work in the U.S.
