SIP 2025 - Metro Pantry Intern (Metro) at Tri-C Food pantry
The Student Life department provides programs and activities that promote learning and development both outside and alongside classroom learning. The Pantry is an on-campus resource managed by Student Life that assists students in their pursuit of success. It is open Monday through Thursday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., and students are permitted to visit once per week and take up to 10 pounds of items per visit.
Note: In-person interviews will be conducted on Feb. 28, 2025, at West and Metro. These interview fairs are your only opportunity to meet and interview with hiring supervisors.
We are looking for an energetic, creative, and friendly intern who can help make The Pantry and warm and inviting place for students to visit. You will be working closely with the Food Pantry Liaison and the Student Life team to service students, review visitor data, create presentations, receive shipments, stock and clean, help plan promotional activities and events, and assist with special projects.
Responsibilities
- Welcoming and greeting all pantry visitors
- Providing fair, friendly, and courteous service
- Weighing all items and inputting transaction details into database
- Bagging items for pantry shoppers
- Answering student questions and assisting shoppers as needed
- Receiving incoming shipments
- Stocking backroom and pantry shelves
- Assist in creating monthly presentations using visitor data
- Daily cleaning and replenishing
- Assist in planning and hosting special events and projects
- Participate in team huddles and trainings
Preferred Qualifications
- Minimum one year demonstrated experience using excellent customer service in a retail or professional setting
- Student who has completed a minimum of two semesters
- Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills; and ability to share ideas amongst diverse groups
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel
- Possess excellent organizational and problem solving skills
- Ability to work effectively on a team
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to provide one letter of recommendation from a college administrator, faculty, or staff member

Program Requirements
- Must be enrolled in current semester (Spring 2025)
- Must enroll in a minimum of one Summer 2025 course
- Must be returning to Tri-C for Fall 2025 Semester
- Must have a declared major on record
This position is part of the Cuyahoga Community College Summer Internship Program.
