Aspire Instructional Coach
Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and innovative Instructional Coach to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in enhancing the educational experience by supporting educators in curriculum development and instructional strategies. This position requires a strong background in educational practices, content development, and effective communication skills to foster a collaborative learning environment.
I. Purpose: To provide coaching and educational instruction and transition services for individuals skilled through alternative routes (STARs) seeking to enhance basic education skills, learn English as a Second Language, earn their High School Equivalency, pursue post-secondary opportunities, and/or obtain employment.
II. Essential Responsibilities
A. Provide educational leadership to students in the classroom, in small groups, in individual settings, and online.
1. Design and implement instructional plans and materials aligned with the HSE exam content areas (e.g., Mathematics, Language Arts, Science, Social Studies) and ESOL curriculum, ensuring alignment with state standards and best practices in language acquisition.
2. Develop differentiated lessons to accommodate varying learning styles and educational backgrounds.
3. Utilize instructional strategies that promote engagement, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
4. Administer TABE, CLAS-E, and review and interpret assessment data to determine a learning path for each participant.
5. Coach participants through the development and completion of short-and long-term educational and career goals.
6. Create a positive and inclusive learning environment conducive to academic achievement and foster a supportive classroom culture that encourages persistence and motivation among students.
B. Monitor, evaluate, and document student activity and outcomes.
1. Maintain accurate records of student attendance, progress, and achievement.
2. Analyze assessment data to track student growth and inform instructional decisions.
3. Performing other duties as assigned that align with agency requirements.
C. Engage in agency activities and initiatives.
1. Participate in agency meetings and committees as assigned.
2. Assist in the development, planning and execution of special projects and events (i.e., graduations, research, and other team building activities).

IV. Work Experience and Education
A. Bachelor’s degree required with at least 1 year of teaching or adult tutoring experience.
B. Valid driver’s license with no major or DUI offenses in the last five years.
C. Requires intermediate computer skills and experience using office equipment.
D. The ability to speak other languages preferred.
E. Expert level written and verbal communication skills.
F. Requires satisfactory background check.
G. If teaching English for Speakers of Other Languages, TESOL/TEFL certification or similar preferred.
V. Physical, Mental, and Other Requirements
A. Must be able to lift, push and/or carry up to ten pounds (i.e., textbooks, carts, etc.).
B. The ability to work independently to complete remote work assignments.
C. Must have access to a working phone or cell phone. D. Must have access to reliable WIFI or internet connection other than at Guild offices.
E. The ability to work non-traditional hours, including at least two evenings a week.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $19.00 - $20.00 per hour
