The State Water Resources Control Board’s Division of Financial Assistance has two openings for a Student Assistant Engineering and Architectural Sciences in the Office of Sustainable Water Solutions Branch. The position is located at 1001 I Street, 18th Floor, Sacramento, CA 95814 right in the heart of downtown next to light rail stations and other public transportation.
Under the close supervision of a Senior Water Resource Control Engineer or Senior Engineering Geologist and consistent with good customer service practices and the goals of the State and Regional Board’s Strategic Plan, the incumbent is expected to be courteous and provide timely responses to internal/external customers, follow through on commitments, and to solicit and consider internal/external customer input when completing work assignments.
Duties:
The Student Assistant Engineering and Architectural Sciences performs a variety of sub-professional tasks related to the planning, design, construction and implementation of water quality protection and improvement projects. Projects are related to wastewater, drinking water, water recycling, and integrated regional water management. Knowledge of basic engineering principles is necessary for the incumbent to be successful in the position.

Salary information – CalHR salary rules allow appointment at the entrance rate (Cal. Code Regs., tit. 2, § 599.673) of a classification. For classes with alternate ranges, placement is based on education/experience.
