Internship Summary
Helping Texans is the H-E-B Way. Spend 10 weeks with us exploring the retail industry as an H-E-B Corporate Intern. Program dates will be from June 2nd – August 8th. Interns will be required to be In Person out of our San Antonio offices. Housing will be available for qualified candidates.
As the guardians of public trust, our Quality Assurance (QA) Team ensures H‑E‑B provides absolutely safe products from supplier to Customer. QA Partners manage H‑E‑B product quality to ensure 100% customer satisfaction and that products meet H‑E‑B's safety / quality standards.
QA touches all areas of H-E-B, they are a dynamic and fun group of scientists that have a passion for food safety, product safety and making great products better through process and tools. Interns learn about the retail environment which can be applied to any position they take after graduation.

- Current juniors and seniors (2025 and 2026 grads) majoring in Science, Food Science, Food Safety, Engineering and related majors
- Have knowledge or exposure to manufacturing systems, product safety and quality management
- Have a willingness to learn and Inquisitive nature
- Strong verbal / written communication and presentation skills
- Organization and time-management skills
- Professionalism and willingness to collaborate in a team environment
- The ability to manage multiple priorities, shift focus between tasks, and pay attention to details
- Have the drive to get things done
- Are currently enrolled in a bachelor’s or master’s degree program
Program Expectations
- Must have reliable transportation or be open to using public transportation
- Must be available for the entire 10 weeks (June 2nd – August 8th)
- The availability to commit to full-time work in-person for the duration of the Internship, and work a varying work schedule, if required
Projects previous Interns have worked on:
- A previous intern researched controlled environment agriculture and updated company requirements
- A previous intern processed optimization for identifying required facility improvements in production spaces in store
- A previous intern analyzed and optimized shelf-life standards for Market service case items
- A previous intern compared the contrast of GFSI and Industry Standard documents
