Field Service Technician 1

Job Title: Field Service Technician 1

Responsibilities:

  • Perform customer installations, maintenance, and service calls efficiently and professionally.
  • Service electromechanical equipment, including self-checkout systems, within an assigned territory.
  • Carry out maintenance, repair, preventative maintenance (PM) work, and system overhauls.
  • Provide troubleshooting and problem-solving support as the first line of response for customer issues.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Local candidate to the specific geographic area.
  • Authorized to work in the US.
  • At least 18 years of age.
  • Valid driver’s license and a driving record that meets fleet requirements.
  • PC skills, basic electronics knowledge, and familiarity with hardware and operating systems.
  • Ability to perform essential functions of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation.
  • Ability to lift tools, parts, and equipment up to 75 lbs. without assistance, and up to 150 lbs. with assistance.
  • Ability to bend, squat, stand, walk, sit, reach, and work with hands and tools.
  • Willing to be trained on and operate small scale scissor lifts to service or replace networking equipment in retail environments.
  • Ability to work rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays, as required.
  • Prolonged travel within assigned area and occasional overnight stays (rare).
  • Must be willing to work 8-10 hours per day, 5-6 days a week, including one weekend shift per month.

Shift Details:

  • Overnight shifts will be required for the first 6-8 months, with potential for transition to day or afternoon shifts later.
  • Night shifts: 9 PM – 5 AM.

Additional Information:

  • Travel within the assigned area is required. Mileage reimbursement provided.
  • A car is needed during the contract period. Mileage can be expensed weekly.
  • Two-week dedicated training followed by on-the-job (OJT) training.
  • A mentor will be assigned after training, and access to support resources, including Oracle Knowledge Management and a GURU team, will be available for assistance.
  • This position is a contract-to-hire opportunity. Successful candidates will have the potential to be converted to a full-time role after a probationary period.
