SIP 2025 -Summer Intern – Special Event Support (Hybrid) at Cleveland Hearing and Speech Center

We are the nation's oldest hearing and speech center and Northeast Ohio's only nonprofit organization dedicated solely to serving those with special communication needs. CHSC consistently serves thousands of children and adults each year through the following programs and services: Hearing, Speech-Language and Learning, Language Interpreting, and the Community Center for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing. The Center also oversees the management of the Early Intervention Program.

Note: In-person interviews will be conducted on Feb. 28, 2025, at West and Metro. These interview fairs are your only opportunity to meet and interview with hiring supervisors.

CHSC is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Summer Intern to assist with special event support and donor relations. This role offers a great opportunity to gain hands-on experience in event planning, nonprofit operations, and communications while making a meaningful impact in the community. 

Responsibilities

  • Assist with special event preparation and coordination 
    Draft and send in-kind donation letters and thank-you notes to donors. 
    Update and maintain spreadsheets related to events, donations, and sponsorships. 
    Provide administrative support for event logistics and follow-ups. 
  • Must be comfortable communicating with others, working in an office environment, making phone calls, and providing administrative support to 5 professional staff members  
  • Ability to learn and work in a CRM database
  • Comfortable with Microsoft products 
  • Marketing Knowledge
    Hours are flexible between 9-5 p.m. Monday – Thursday based on your availability.  

Preferred Qualifications

  • Must be comfortable communicating with others, working in an office environment, making phone calls, and providing administrative support to 5 professional staff members

Program Requirements

  • Must be enrolled in current semester (Spring 2025)
  • Must enroll in a minimum of one Summer 2025 course
  • Must be returning to Tri-C for Fall 2025 Semester
  • Must have a declared major on record

This position is part of the Cuyahoga Community College Summer Internship Program.
