Position Title:  Clinical Research Technician

Organization:  IU Indianapolis

Department/ Office:  IU School of Medicine

Hourly Wage:  $10.15-$15

Number of Openings:  1

Average Hours/Week:  Up to 29

 

General Purpose:  

The Clinical Research Technician role will recruit study participants and collect biological samples.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:  

  • Assess and identify eligible patients on the Labor and Delivery L&D for research studies via the Electronic Medical Record EMR systems.
  • Enroll participants into eligible research studies.
  • Collect bio-specimens for various research studies.
  • Ensure quality sample collection and processing.
  • Enter screening information into Redcap Database.
  • Adhere to Institutional Review Board IRB regulations and protocols.
  • Communicate verbally and in writing with patients, providers, and staff.
  • Organize work duties and record data by utilizing Microsoft Office suite - Outlook, Excel, Word, and medical/research systems.

Desired Qualifications:  

  • Education/Experience: 
    • enrolled as a student at IU Indianapolis
    • Preferred Majors: Biology, Medicine, Physical/Occupational, Therapy, Public Health, Healthcare, Technology and Technician
    • Experience in research, data analysis is preferred
