Job Description
The Student Lab Assistant position provides lab support for the Student Health Center point of care laboratory. This position is expected to work on scheduled afternoons to provide support and assistance to our clinical team and providers.
Essential Functions
- Carry out lab functions and testing at Student Health Center as assigned and according to stringent lab protocols
- Ensure that documentation requirements are strictly adhered to relative to lab functions
- Report incidents or concerns to supervisor via email and verbal means
- Assist Nurse Supervisor with tasks, as assigned
- Attend and participate in training sessions and meetings, as assigned
- As with all positions, involvement with other duties and responsibilities is expected to serve and uphold the values of the Student Health Center and the Division of Student Affairs’ missions
Anticipated Hiring Range
$13.15 per hour, paid on a biweekly basis
Shift
- Approximately 10-15 hours per week
- Shift: 1 p.m. - 5 p.m., two to three days per week during the Fall and Spring semesters
- Typically, there are no scheduled shifts on weekends during the academic year
- There are no scheduled shifts over Fall Break, Thanksgiving Break, Winter Break, Spring Break, or the Summer semester
- This position may require flexibility depending on demand for lab services
- Occasionally division and campus projects may require additional hours outside of the expected schedule
- Schedule may change
Minimum Qualifications
To be eligible for a student title, an individual must be enrolled at the University of Missouri. Selection is contingent upon results of a review with the Office of Institutional Equity, Office of Student Accountability and Support, Office of the Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs, previous MU appointment history, and reference checks.
In order to fulfill your job responsibilities and training, you will need to have additional vetting through University of Missouri Health Care. This may include additional pre-employment checks, a health screening, drug screening, and immunizations.
