Research Assistant
Full-time Research Assistant at VA Boston Healthcare System sought for support in research activities at the Boston site of a multicenter COPD/Pulmonary Hypertension study, and participation in a quality improvement project to evaluate the effectiveness and outcomes of a large Lung Cancer Screening program.
Duties include participant recruitment by phone and mail, primary clinical data collection by interview and questionnaires, data entry and management, chart review and quality assurance. Training of study related procedures such as measurement of pulmonary function and vital signs will be provided. Opportunities to contribute to scientific abstracts, presentations, and manuscripts are available.
The successful candidate will have a basic knowledge of human biology, superior interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills, and knowledge of standard computer applications such as Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access) and Adobe. Previous research or clinical experience with human subjects, familiarity with REDCap, and the completion of a bachelor’s degree that includes courses in the biological sciences is required. Candidates seeking a 2-year commitment or greater are preferred.
Candidate must be a U.S. citizen. The position is federal benefits eligible, including healthcare, vision, and dental; partial remote/telework considered.
