Position Title: Scholar Services Assistant

Organization: IU Indianapolis

Department/Office: The Office of International Affairs

Hourly Wage: $13

Number of Openings: 1

Average Hours/Week: 10-15 hours/week between our hours of M-F, 8-5

Dates: January 13, 2025 - May 9, 2025 exact dates negotiable with student schedule, there may be a possibility for extension to work for the 2025-2026 academic year)

 

General Purpose:

The Office of International Affairs is looking for a student assistant to work in the processing of visa applications for non-immigrant employees at IU Indianapolis. 

Job Duties and Responsibilities: 

This position will involve:

  • Corresponding with clients via email, phone, and in person
  • Data entry
  • Tracking
  • Copying
  • Scanning
  • Indexing
  • Other administrative tasks as needed and assigned

Knowledge, Skills, Attributes: 

A successful candidate in this position will have the following: 

  • Organization
  • Attention to detail
  • Comfort using computers (Microsoft Office Software)
  • A willingness to learn 

Qualifications:

  • An advanced level undergraduate student OR graduate student
  • Able to start January 13 and work through May 9
  • Availability to work 10-15 hours a week during Monday-Friday between 8-5.

  • Community Contributor – Students will gain knowledge about other cultures through interacting with members of the community. This position will provide students with skills to help communicate with others clearly and effectively.
