Quality Engineering Intern
The Quality Engineering Intern will develop and implement quality data collection systems aimed at enhancing product quality and customer satisfaction. This role will focus on root cause and corrective action (RCCA) initiatives to reduce customer complaints, improve first pass yield (FPY), and minimize scrap.

- Create a Quality Data Collection System: Design and implement a system for collecting and analyzing quality data to support continuous improvement efforts.
- Problem-Solving Support: Assisting in root cause analysis and corrective action (RCCA) planning for non-conformances and quality issues.
- Enhance First Pass Yield (FPY): Participate in RCCA initiatives aimed at improving first pass yield by analyzing production processes and recommending improvements.
- Minimize Scrap Generation: Work on RCCA efforts to identify sources of scrap and develop strategies to reduce waste in the production process.
- Learning Quality Tools: Gaining familiarity with quality engineering tools and methodologies, such as Six Sigma, Lean, and statistical process control (SPC).
- Attendance is mandatory to ensure effective team collaboration and productivity.

Experience/Education/Skills
Qualifications/Characteristics:
- Completed at least two years (three years preferred) toward a BS in Engineering with a GPA of 3.0 (3.5 preferred) or more (preferred Computer Systems, Statistics or equivalent)
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft software (Advanced Excel/Macros, Visual Basic).
- Capability to understand and interpret engineering drawings.
- Database oriented.
- Knowledge of Probability and Statistics.
- Measurement equipment knowledge is a plus (calipers, micrometers, height gages, etc.)

Working Conditions:
Indoor production environment, duties performed indoors, adequate lighting and comfortable temperatures. Occasional exposure to moderate noise and machinery with mechanical moving parts.
Physical requirements:
- Occasionally positions self to move an office item >10 lbs.
- Frequently move about the production floor and office area to attend meetings or trainings
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position up to 75% of the time
- Frequently operates a computer, enters data into systems, verifies information, etc…
