Product Innovation Intern

Innovation Engineering Department 

 

The Innovation Engineering team is responsible for the development of standards, templates, specifications, and owner’s requirements documents in support of Vantage’s global growth, most notably leading the Vantage prototyping effort known as OneDesign. 

The team collaborates with all multi-functional teams within Vantage to drive prototypical designs for global deployment to ensure high quality, consistent product deployments in alignment with constantly evolving internal and external customer requirements. In addition to standards development, the Innovation Engineering team is responsible for leading due diligence assessment of merger and acquisition opportunity, and development of design requirements for customer build to suit opportunities. 

 

Position Overview 

 

This role can be based in Denver, Colorado.

 

Vantage Data Centers is offering an exciting internship opportunity for individuals eager to gain hands-on experience in the world of data centers. As a Data Center Intern, you will work alongside our expert teams to learn the ins and outs of data center operations, infrastructure maintenance, and the latest industry technologies. We typically hire in the following departments: Construction, Engineering, Sustainability, Public Policy, and Corporate Functions.  

 

Essential Job Functions 

 

Research and Analysis: 

Conduct research on emerging technologies, trends, and best practices related to data center operations and innovation. 

Analyze industry reports, market insights, and competitor strategies to identify opportunities for improvement and innovation. 

 

Idea Generation: 

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to generate creative ideas and solutions aimed at improving operational efficiency, reducing costs, and enhancing customer experiences. 

Brainstorm innovative approaches to address challenges and capitalize on market opportunities. 

 

Prototype Development: 

Assist in the development of prototypes, proof-of-concepts, and experimental projects to test new technologies and concepts within the data center environment. 

Work closely with engineers and technicians to implement and evaluate innovative solutions. 

 

Data Analysis: 

Collect and analyze data related to data center performance, energy consumption, and resource utilization. 

Identify trends, patterns, and insights to inform decision-making and optimize operational processes. 

 

Documentation and Reporting: 

Document project activities, key findings, and outcomes. 

Prepare reports, presentations, and case studies to communicate key insights, lessons learned, and recommendations to stakeholders. 

 

Collaboration and Communication: 

Collaborate effectively with internal teams, including engineering, operations, sales, and marketing, to support innovation efforts. 

Clearly communicate ideas, project progress, and results in a clear and concise manner. 

 

Continuous Learning: 

Stay updated on the latest advancements in data center technologies, innovation methodologies, and industry trends. 

Seek opportunities for personal and professional development to enhance skills and knowledge. 

 

Additional Duties: 

Handle additional duties as assigned by Management. 

 

Job Requirements 

 

Education: 

Currently enrolled in a 4-year university pursuing a degree in Architectural, Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering. 

 

Experience: 

Rising Junior or Senior status 

Minimum GPA requirement – 3.0  

Previous Internship experience preferred but not required 

 

Skills: 

Skilled at internal personal communication, logical thinking, problem solving and project planning. 

Basic understanding of engineering concepts. 

Strong attention to detail and accuracy. 

Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment. 

Problem-solving mindset with a focus on continuous improvement. 

Positive and proactive attitude. 

Ability to work both independently and as part of a team. 

Proficient with all aspects of modern working practice and tools, including MS Office, MS Teams.

Additional Details 

Hourly Range: $20.00 - $25.00 

It is estimated that the internship will run from June 2, 2025, to August 15, 2025.
