SIP 2025 - Intern, Grants Accounting (District) at Tri-C Accounting and Financial Operations

Mission: To be a leader in the areas of financial stewardship (e.g. appropriate skill sets, creating processes, understanding operations, establishing an internal control structure that enables us to have an understanding of College transactions and their interaction) and meaningful (timely, relevant and accurate) internal and external reporting by providing general accounting, budgeting, receivables, payables, grants, student accounting, business intelligence and payroll business processes and services that are client interactive and support the College’s mission, vision and values. 

Note: In-person interviews will be conducted on Feb. 28, 2025, at West and Metro. These interview fairs are your only opportunity to meet and interview with hiring supervisors.

Responsibilities

  • Establish and analyze grant budgets
  • Prepare grant related financial reports
  • Identify and resolve issues with budgets, receivables, and payables
  • Prepare journal entries related to restricted funds
  • Assist with departmental projects and other duties as needed

Preferred Qualifications

  • Satisfactorily completed Financial Accounting (ACCT-1311) and/or satisfactorily completed Managerial  Accounting (ACCT-1341)
  • Developing skills related to Microsoft Office including Excel, Word, and Outlook
  • Attention to detail
  • Strong communication skills (oral & written)
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Organizational and time-management skills

Program Requirements

  • Must be enrolled in current semester (Spring 2025)
  • Must enroll in a minimum of one Summer 2025 course
  • Must be returning to Tri-C for Fall 2025 Semester
  • Must have a declared major on record

This position is part of the Cuyahoga Community College Summer Internship Program.
