As a Dental Assistant/Receptionist, you will play a dual role in both patient care and administrative functions, contributing to the smooth operation of the dental clinic. Your responsibilities will include preparing patients for procedures, assisting the dentist and dental hygienist with treatments, taking x-rays, maintaining dental instruments, and providing patient education. On the administrative side, you will greet patients, manage appointment scheduling, handle check-ins and check-outs, verify insurance, and process payments. This combined role requires strong organizational and communication skills, the ability to multitask efficiently, and a commitment to delivering excellent patient care and service. You will be an essential part of both the clinical and front-office teams, helping to create a welcoming and effective environment for patients and staff alike.
Responsibilities:
· Assist dentist and hygienist during patient procedures and treatments.
· Prepare instruments and dental materials; sterilize equipment.
· Take and develop x-rays, ensuring compliance with safety protocols.
· Educate patients on post-treatment care and dental hygiene practices.
· Greet and check-in patients, manage appointment scheduling, and ensure all paperwork is complete.
· Verify insurance details, process billing and payments, and handle patient inquiries via phone and email.
· Maintain accurate patient records and assist with office administration tasks as needed.
· Protects patients' rights by maintaining confidentiality of medical, personal, and financial information.
· Maintains operations by following policies and procedures; reporting needed changes.
· Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
· High school diploma or GED required.
· Current Radiation Health and Safety (RHS) certification and BLS certification, or ability to obtain within 90 days.
· Experience as a dental assistant and/or receptionist preferred.
· Strong organizational and multitasking abilities, with a focus on patient care and customer service.
· Proficiency in dental practice management software (Dentrix, Eaglesoft) is a plus.
· Valid MT Driver’s License and clean driving record
· Be willing to consent to criminal background check.
Employees may be requested to stay or report to work, when needed, to complete essential tasks to the benefit of the organization. This may require working a non-traditional work schedule or working outside normal assigned duties to complete tasks.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Essential job duties may require occasional lifting, pushing, and pulling up to 50 pounds. The ability to occasionally stoop, kneel, crouch, and utilize reaching, handling, fingering, and feeling movements is required. The ability to hear normal conversational discussion and near and far visual clarity is required.
