Administration Intern

JOB SUMMARY:

Sandra Eskenazi MHC Administration Intern will be participating in an unpaid internship. The Intern is responsible for learning and assisting in the various positions involved within Sandra Eskenazi MHC Administration. This position depending on interns’ interest and project available could be working with financials, quality improvement, project management, onboarding/training, Electronic Health Record- Epic system/reports/forms, and or senior leadership projects as they arise. 

Please note: What is posted is for an Admin Intern but at times I am to place within Sandra Eskenazi and some Eskenazi Health Hospital Departments. 

INTERNSHIP JOB FUNCTIONS TO LEARN:

1.     Will learn project management skills while assist with the review the medical records in question from a variety of internal and external auditors/review agencies (i.e. Recovery Audit Program, OIG, MAC, OMPP, Payers, etc)

2.     Will learn to be a liaison between SEMHC clinical teams and Eskenazi Health Business Departments that support our daily operations like finance, revenue cycle, marketing, HR, Legal, etc.

3.     Will learn how Sandra Eskenazi MHC Revenue Cycle work flow from beginning to end

4.     Will learn to utilize industry publications and regulations in order to gain expertise in the areas of clinical documentation, billing, reimbursement and compliance Demonstrates good communication skills, problem resolution.

5.     Will learn to identify compliance issues, policy review, and education for adherence.

6.     Will learn how credentialing impacts financial reimbursement based on supply of employees to provide the service and the demand of the mental health service. 

7.     Will learn how to work with Excel, review data, and analyze the outcome of the data.

8. Will have opportunities to work directly with Senior Leaders including presenting updates on projects weekly.

9. Performs additional functions deemed appropriate by direct supervisor
