The Central Coast Regional Water Quality Control Board has an opening for a Water Resource Control Engineer in its Wastewater Permitting (Waste Discharge Requirements, or WDR) program. This position helps further our program’s vision to protect and enhance water quality for the benefit of the public and environment and our mission to ensure protection of water quality, ecosystems, and human health.
The position is located at 895 Aerovista Place, Suite 101, San Luis Obispo, California.
Duties:
The Water Resource Control Engineer protects human health and the environment through permitting waste discharges to land. They are expected to work independently, communicate effectively, and manage multiple tasks. Daily proficient utilization of office equipment and the Microsoft Office Suite is required. Must possess a valid driver’s license and be able to operate motorized vehicle to inspection sites.

Salary information – CalHR salary rules allow appointment at the entrance rate (Cal. Code Regs., tit. 2, § 599.673) of a classification. For classes with alternate ranges, placement is based on education/experience.
