Project Coordinator Intern

Position Title: Project Coordinator Intern Department: Marshall University Research

 Corporation (MURC) Supervisor: Director of Grant Operations, Brittany Bruce Location: Huntington, WV Duration: 10-20 hours per week (flexible based on academic schedule) Compensation: Hourly at $17

Position Overview:

The Marshall University Research Corporation (MURC) is seeking a Part-Time Project Coordinator Intern to assist with various aspects of grant operations and project management. The intern will work with the Director of Grant Operations to support the coordination and execution of grant-related projects, including event planning, promotional material development, and communication efforts. This is an excellent opportunity for a student interested in gaining experience in project management, research administration, and communications.

Key Responsibilities:

· Promotional Materials Development: Assist in the creation of promotional materials, including flyers, brochures, and digital content to support MURC’s programs and events.

· Event and Meeting Planning: Help plan and coordinate events and meetings, manage a master schedule, and assist in logistical arrangements. Some events include, Grantsmanship celebration, MURC Open House, MURC trainings and Funder Meet and Greets.

· Meeting Documentation: Attend meetings and take detailed notes, ensuring follow-up on action items and maintaining accurate records.

· Project Management Support: Assist the Director of Grant Operations with managing project timelines, resources, and deliverables, helping to ensure projects stay on track and are completed on time.

· Event Registration: Manage event registration processes, including tracking participants, sending confirmation emails, and maintaining participant lists for upcoming events.

· All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

· Current undergraduate (Senior or Junior) or graduate student pursuing a degree in Business Administration, Communications, Public Relations, Graphic Design, or a related field.

Preferred Qualifications:

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and familiarity with social media platforms.

· Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

· Ability to work independently as well as part of a team, with strong initiative and problem-solving abilities.

· Experience in event planning or promotional material development.

· Familiarity with social media management tools or basic graphic design software.

· Experience using Canva.
