SUMMARY

The Program Design & Instructional Consultant will enhance and support the Adult Education Programs within Region 5. The consultant will play a crucial role in evaluating current practices, fostering curriculum cohesion, developing strategic processes, and promoting professional growth through data-driven approaches. This role involves regional travel for program visits, meetings, and professional development facilitation. The consultant will work closely with program staff and stakeholders to support       alignment and growth.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Work collaboratively with all programs to assess strengths and identify areas requiring improvement.
  • Share exemplary practices from high-performing programs with other regional programs.
  • Address areas in need of improvement with targeted professional development and additional resources as necessary.
  • Conduct monthly visits to each program based on a regional calendar or more frequently as needed.
  • Evaluate alignment, procedures, and processes, coordinating with programs to meet identified needs.
  • Attend regional meetings to ensure provider needs are addressed and data is collected to inform continuous improvement.
  • Align and support curriculum cohesion across programs.
  • Develop and monitor enrollment and intake processes for seamless participant integration.
  • Collect and analyze data to design and implement strategies that promote student retention and success.
  • Identify professional development needs through site visit data and MAERS regional data analysis.
  • Build and coach staff on the use of assessment systems, including pre/post-test calendars and benchmarking tools.
  • Analyze and disseminate best practices within the region and statewide.
  • Seek and provide coaching and aligned professional development to staff, focusing on best practices to enhance instructional quality.
  • Identify and recommend the purchase of necessary supplies for individual programs based on their unique needs.
  • Contact students post-exit for feedback to support program evaluation.
  • Be present in buildings with regular and continued attendance and punctuality.
  • Follow all Board Policies, Staff Handbook and Administrative Guidelines.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:  To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.   • Experience in program design, instructional support, or educational consulting.
  • Proven ability to manage and develop professional development and micro-credentialing programs.
  • Strong analytical skills for data collection and strategy development.
  • Excellent communication, coaching, and organizational skills.
  • Familiarity with assessment systems and benchmarking tools.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Bachelor’s Degree in Education, Curriculum & Instruction, Education Administration or Leadership, or related degree. Minimum three years experience in a related field. Experience working with non-traditional adult student populations, preferred.

 

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

Valid driver’s license required.

 

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.  Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

 

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals; compute rate, ratio and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

 

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
