Summer Internship Program in Louisville, KY
Responsibilities:
Norton Healthcare invites you to apply for our Summer Internship program. The program is open to undergraduate and postgraduate students for the summer of 2025. In this immersive 12-week paid internship, interns will receive hands-on experience and learn about the health care industry. The program offers project experiences across the health care system. Previous project areas included care management, Norton Medical Group, revenue cycle, supply chain and hospital operations. Interns will have an opportunity to look at many facets of our health care system as it relates to continuously striving to improve our quality of care for our patients, community, and employees.
The 2025 summer internship runs from May 19, 2025 to August 8, 2025.
Interviews will begin in January 2025 and job offers will be made in February 2025.
You must be currently enrolled in a bachelor or master degree program to be considered for the internship.
Students in clinical disciplines such as nursing, lab, respiratory, and radiology who are interested in pursuing leadership pathways will find this program especially valuable.
The internship program consists of four key areas:
- Project work: Complete individual and group projects for a well-rounded, hands-on experience. Interns will present their project results to our Senior Leadership team at the end of the summer.
- Professional development: Participate in educational panels led by experts in their fields, with presentations and personal growth exercises included. Interns will be assigned a leader who will be their mentor for the summer.
- Community engagement: Work with internal and external partners to engage with the community in a unique and dynamic way.
- Executive exposure: Meet with senior leaders, tour Norton Healthcare facilities and create connections through networking.
The interns will perform daily tasks and projects that include the design, execution and evaluation of projects. This includes literature reviews, surveys, focus groups, data integration and analysis. They will also assist staff with the design and maintenance of online surveys and relational databases, data collection and management, report creation, field work and administrative tasks as assigned.
