Student Assistant Internship (Dedicated Support/DOT), Ref# 8297
Minimum Qualifications
• Must be a US citizen or foreign national eligible to work in the United States
• Must be 18 years of age or older
• Must be currently attending a New York State college, university or graduate program, or be a resident of New York State attending a college, university or graduate program outside of New York State
• Must have completed a minimum of one (1) year as a student at a degree-granting two or four-year college or university (completion of one year’s worth of academic credits over a more extended period of time may qualify part-time students) OR currently enrolled graduate student or accepted in a graduate degree program
• Must have a minimum grade point average (GPA) of 2.0 or equivalent to a C.
Duties Description
The Security Services Team dedicated to DOT collaborates with the agency, its vendors & ITS teams to understand and integrate security requirements into the delivery of innovative and relevant business solutions while ensuring service alignment with client business priorities. The SST also ensures compliance with NYS Security Policies and Standards, Federal requirements (as applicable), as well as industry best practices for both IT systems and OT systems. The SST focuses on the business applications, infrastructure, and needs of DOT.
Student Assistant duties may include:
- Assists with the Implementation of information security and compliance programs.
- Aids in the management and resolution of security threats to agency information systems under the guidance of team leaders.
- Serves as information security support, and evaluates systems and contracts for alignment with agency and State information security policies
- Meeting with other areas of ITS or client agencies to discuss security concerns and help educate business units about the key concepts of information security.
