SIP 2025 - Social Media Intern (Jerry Sue Thornton Center) at Tri-C Integrated Communications

Integrated Communications provides the direction for all creative services work for Cuyahoga Community College. The department works with administrators, outside vendors, and staff to produce print, video, and interactive elements that achieve the measurable goals of the College. The following services are provided to our College clients: Website Development and Social Media, Advertising Campaigns, Creative Services, Media Relations/Public Relations and Strategic Planning.

Note: In-person interviews will be conducted on Feb. 28, 2025, at West and Metro. These interview fairs are your only opportunity to meet and interview with hiring supervisors.

Responsibilities

  • Work with the Integrated Communications team on Social Media Strategy, posts and “live” coverage at college events and athletic games
  • Write college related stories and social posts – 1-3 per month
  • Develop reports based on campaign results and analytics
  • Other communication duties as assigned
  • Meet weekly (virtually or in-person) with the Social Media Manager
  • Content Calendar Management
  • Idea pitching and trend monitoring 
  • Takeovers highlighting programs and student life – AMAs, “A Day In The Life”
  • Videography: vertical video capturing, scripting, captioning, audio pairing, content writing
  • Photography: Phone or camera-based photography, editing skills in Adobe or Canva

Preferred Qualifications

  • Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal skills 
  • Experience with social media platforms including Facebook, X and Instagram 
  • Ability to interact with other students/faculty and staff to interview
  • Video creation (CapCut, Canva, or others) 
  • Experience with Hootsuite or any other CMS system

Program Requirements

  • Must be enrolled in current semester (Spring 2025)
  • Must enroll in a minimum of one Summer 2025 course
  • Must be returning to Tri-C for Fall 2025 Semester
  • Must have a declared major on record

This position is part of the Cuyahoga Community College Summer Internship Program.
