VMS Quality Lab Technician (Co-Op)

General Summary:

We will provide hands-on experience in a regulated manufacturing environment, where you will gain practical skills and knowledge in quality control, regulatory compliance, and laboratory operations. The ideal candidate will be motived and detail oriented. 

 

Essential Functions:

  • Adhere to all safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work environment.
  • Assist in the daily operations of the quality lab, including sample preparation, testing, and analysis.
  • Conduct routine quality control tests and document results in accordance with standard operating procedures (SOPs), lab test methods and policies and regulatory guidelines.
  • Support the implementation and maintenance of quality management systems (QMS) to ensure compliance with industry regulations (e.g., FDA, USP, GMP).
  • Participate in the investigation of non-conformances and out-of-specification results and assist in the development of corrective and preventive actions (CAPAs) if applicable.
  • Help prepare technical reports, summaries, and documentation related to quality control activities.
  • Perform equipment calibration, maintenance, and troubleshooting under the supervision of experienced lab personnel.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including manufacturing, engineering, maintenance and plant operations to support continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Perform other related duties as required and assigned.

 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Biology, Chemistry or a related science field.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely in multiple media forms – verbal, written, etc.
  • Strong interest in quality control, regulatory compliance, and laboratory science.
  • Excellent attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Minitab and PowerBi is a plus.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Prior laboratory experience or coursework in quality control/assurance is a plus.
