Hourly Graduate Assistant for the Counselor Education Program Job
Job description This position provides a valuable opportunity for a graduate student to gain hands-on experience in the field of school counseling while contributing to the success and growth of the program. The selected candidate will work closely with the program coordinator and faculty, gaining insights into program administration, accreditation processes, and marketing strategies within a dynamic academic environment.
This hourly GA position DOES NOT include tuition remission and health insurance.
Job Purpose: The Graduate Assistant for the Counselor Education Program will play a crucial role in supporting the Counseling Program Coordinator and faculty in various administrative tasks. The primary responsibilities include assisting with the design of presentations, working on Excel spreadsheets, organizing electronic documentation for re-accreditation purposes, contributing to marketing and recruitment efforts, attending occasional faculty meetings, and providing comprehensive departmental support.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Design Presentations (PP): Create visually appealing and informative PowerPoint presentations to support faculty and program initiatives.
- Excel Spreadsheets:
- Assist in the development and maintenance of Excel spreadsheets for data analysis, program evaluation, and other relevant tasks.
- Demonstrate advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word.
- Utilize spreadsheet skills to organize and analyze departmental data efficiently.
- Documentation Organization: Collaborate with faculty to organize electronic documentation essential for re-accreditation purposes, ensuring compliance with accreditation standards.
- Marketing and Recruitment Support:
- Contribute to marketing efforts by creating promotional materials, assisting with social media campaigns, and participating in recruitment events to attract prospective students.
- Be well-versed with various social media platforms.
- Be proficient in Canva to design eye-catching posters and marketing collateral. - Create professional posters for departmental events, recruitment, and program communications.
- Create engaging and professional content for social media channels.
- Manage and maintain the department's social media presence.
5. Communication and Administrative Support:
- Be quick and responsive in handling email communications.
- Provide comprehensive support to the department, including administrative tasks, communication management, and coordination of departmental activities.
6. Faculty Meetings: Attend occasional faculty meetings, take minutes, and assist in the dissemination of relevant information to program stakeholders.
Working Conditions: Hours: 20 hours per week
Location: Mostly remote work with occasional face-to-face meetings as needed

Organization: Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently, especially in digital and social media platforms.
