Supervising Community Service Officer Addictions

Supervising Community Service Officer Addictions – will serve as the COSSUP Coordinator (Comprehensive Opioid, Stimulant, and Substance Use Program) for the County of Hudson, Department of Health & Human Services.

Educational Requirements: A Master’s Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling or related field; applicants may possess an LCSW, LPC, LCADC but is not a requirement

Experience: 5 years’ experience minimum – with at least 1 year in a supervisory capacity. 

  • Oversee Community Navigator case management program including scheduling outreaches with identified partners and going into the community for outreach events and initiatives
  • Provide direct supervision to the Community Navigators 
  • Provide light case management to Hudson County residents accessing COSSUP services, as needed, either through the Navigator program, when needed, or through the STARS Mobile Outreach Vehicle
  • Provide oversight for Narcan kit distribution Creation and implementation of a family support program with DCPP to assist family members of those who are justice-involved as a result of substance use or misuse 
  • Oversee sub-contracted providers and programs by reviewing a provider’s level of service and expenditures on a monthly and quarterly basis, conducting annual site visits and reviewing contracts
  • Assist with the creation of Request for Proposals (RFPs) and County Resolutions specific to the COSSUP grant, when applicable
  • Facilitate Hudson County’s bi-monthly Overdose Fatality Review Team (OFRT) meetings including scheduling, organizing participating organizations, inputting the data collected at each review and taking detailed meeting minutes
  • Facilitate the bi-monthly OFRT Subcommittee which applies recommendations made during the OFRT meetings 
  • Complete quarterly and bi-annual Bureau of Justice Assistance (BJA) reports 
  • Oversight of the STARS Mobile Outreach Vehicle 
  • Scheduling applicable trainings for the Hudson County Regional SWAT team and Crisis Intervention Team (CIT) trainings
