Crop Scout
Internship position available in Northeast Wisconsin with an independent crop consulting team. You will have a great opportunity to get your feet wet in the agriculture industry. Responsibilities include scouting crop fields and collecting data to be used for recommendations to clients. All majors welcome. No experience required. All training provided. We are looking for a motivated person to work an average of 40-60 hours per week with overtime pay. You will have direct contact with clients and the opportunity to learn about field crop management. Internship will start early May and will run through August 15th.
This internship duties will include scouting field crops for disease, insects and weeds along with normal and abnormal plant growth. Discussing fertilizer, seed and pesticide recommendations with farmers. Soil, tissue and manure sampling will also be part of the internship. No specific education requirements are necessary but a entry level Agronomy and weeds training will be helpful.
