๐ฆ About the Role
As a Biological Science Technician (Wildlife), youโll contribute to essential projects focused on wildlife conservation, resource management, and ecological restoration. This role supports the Science and Resource Management Division in one of the most iconic landscapes in the worldโGrand Canyon National Park.
๐ ๏ธ Key Duties:
Conduct preconstruction wildlife surveys and monitor impacts on threatened, endangered, and other species.
Implement resource management projects using established methods and ensure data quality control.
Provide data analysis, prepare reports, and assist in developing conservation plans.
Train and guide students, volunteers, or lower-grade technicians.
Operate specialized equipment and utilize computer programs to analyze and report data.
๐ฟ Major Projects You'll Support:
South Rim Wastewater Plant Replacement (Through 2029)
Assist in mitigating impacts to wildlife during the plant replacement project, servicing all visitor and staff facilities on the South Rim.
North Rim and Roaring Springs Utility Systems Rehabilitation (Through 2030)
Monitor wildlife and mitigate impacts as critical water, wastewater, electrical, and communication systems are replaced and upgraded.
Transcanyon Waterline (TCWL) Compliance and Restoration (Through 2028)
Support compliance monitoring, revegetation, and tribal heritage monitoring for this vital infrastructure project.
