Job Summary:

The Licensed Clinical Social Worker is responsible for providing compassionate and comprehensive support services to the clients of Blind & Vision Rehabilitation Services. This position can be remote, hybrid, in-person or a combination. This position will help individuals who are blind, vision impaired or have other disabilities achieve independence, emotional wellbeing, and achieve optimal quality of life.

Responsibilities:

• Perform psychosocial assessments and create individualized treatment plans for clients.
• Provide individual, family, or group counseling that covers a variety of topics such as vision loss, grief, anxiety, depression, etc.
• Communicate to others within the organization to ensure client is receiving appropriate care.
• When necessary, conduct 'at home' visits to assess the client's needs further.
• Keeping all client information well organized and documented for organizations records and databases.
• Offer crisis interventions when needed.

Job Qualifications:

• Master's Degree in Social Work (MSW) from an accredited institution
• Current state licensure as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW)
• Experience with blind and/or low vision preferred.
• Understanding of the rights and advocacy of individuals with disabilities.
• Knowledge and experience with adjustment counseling and trauma-informed care.

Requirements:

• Strong skills in the areas of assessing clients, intervention, communication, organizational and time management skills.
• Ability to show compassion and sensitivity to clients.
• Understanding of the Pittsburgh communities' resources and benefit systems for individuals with disabilities.
• Experience in using case management software.
• Working Knowledge of Windows Operating Systems and Microsoft Office
• A reliable form of transportation or a valid Driver’s License with Insurance
• Clearances Required/Blind and Vision Rehabilitation Services will help you obtain:

· Act 151 (Child Abuse History Clearance)

· Act 34 (Pennsylvania Access to Criminal History Clearance)

· Act 114 (Federal Criminal History Record Clearance)

Working Environment/Physical Demands:

Working Environment:

· General office environment: private, air-conditioned office, with moderate noise levels.

· Responsibility to lift and carrying supplies up to 25 Pounds without assistance.

Reasoning Abilities & Language Skills:

·Ability to evaluate information in order to implement a course of action and solution plan.

· Ability to follow and execute directives from leadership

· Strong confidence in defining problems, collecting data, establishing facts, and drawing valid conclusions.

If relocation is required, BVRS will consider covering these expenses with a signed employment contract.
