Staff Experience Assistant

We are seeking a motivated and energetic Staff Experience Assistant to join our Summer Camp team. This position is ideal for individuals who are passionate about creating a positive, engaging, and inclusive environment for camp staff. As a Staff Experience Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting staff engagement, assisting facilitation in all-camp activities, organizing events, and ensuring a rewarding camp experience for all team members. You will help promote a fun and productive atmosphere that ensures both staff and campers have an unforgettable summer.

Our Camp: 

Camp Starfish is on a mission to create a transformative summer experience for children with emotional, learning, and behavioral challenges. 

Key Responsibilities:

• Staff Engagement: Assist in planning and executing staff engagement activities that foster teamwork, build morale, and create a positive, supportive work environment throughout the summer.
• Onboarding Support: Help welcome new staff members during training by guiding them through the day-to-day of camp and being a resource for camp-specific information.
• Communication & Support: Act as a go-to resource for staff, addressing any questions or concerns and ensuring open communication between camp leadership and staff members.
• Event Coordination: Assist in organizing fun team-building events, staff appreciation days, camp socials, wellness activities, and other initiatives that boost staff engagement and morale. This ialso includes driving staff during tie off to the train station or locally to enjoy time off.
• Feedback & Surveys: Help gather staff feedback throughout the camp season to identify areas for improvement, working with camp leadership to address concerns and celebrate successes.
• Staff Recognition Programs: Support staff recognition initiatives, including shout-outs, appreciation ceremonies, and celebrations of key milestones like birthdays.
• Administrative Support: Provide administrative assistance to the camp management team, including managing camp records, maintaining camp-related databases and other duties as assigned.
• Wellness Support: Coordinate and support wellness initiatives, ensuring staff have access to resources for maintaining their mental and physical well-being during the summer.
• Diversity & Inclusion: Help foster an inclusive camp environment where all staff feel welcome, supported, and valued, promoting diversity and ensuring everyone’s voice is heard.
• Internal Communications: Assist in creating and distributing internal camp communications (newsletters, emails, etc.), keeping staff informed about important camp updates and upcoming events.

Qualifications:

• Education: Current college student pursuing in Human Resources, Recreation, Psychology, Social Work, or a related field is a plus
• Driver's License: Able to drive the camp vans and maintain a clean driving record.
• Experience: Previous experience in a summer camp setting or in human resources, event coordination, or customer service is preferred but not required.
• Skills:

Working Conditions:

• Location: Rindge, NH
• Hours: Full-time, seasonal position, typically May 22nd to August 17th. Hours vary depending on camp schedule, but includes evenings and weekends.
• Compensation: $3,200 summer stipend, with additional bonuses if applicable. Meals, housing, and laundry services provided.
