SIP 2025 -Summer Intern, SPO (Metro Campus) at Tri-C Student Production Office

The mission of the Tri-C Student Production Office (SPO) is to provide students with media production experience in both a professional and educational setting. By having a real-world experience in the media profession, students will be better equipped to succeed in the job market and create stronger transfer credentials. The SPO places students in a results-based domain, allowing them to acclimate to a deadline-driven, client-focused profession while fostering a networking environment and forging valuable resources as they further their careers.

Objectives

Note: In-person interviews will be conducted on Feb. 28, 2025, at West and Metro. These interview fairs are your only opportunity to meet and interview with hiring supervisors.

Student Production Office (SPO) student assistants participate and assist in many creative roles to complete assigned college media-based projects. Projects range from photography, graphic & web design, speaker-support design & creation, storyboard illustration, animations, all aspects and phases of video production, multi-camera productions, location audio recording, audio & video support for live events, and post production sound design. Students also assist Television and Media Services and Student Equipment Services staff. Students will receive guidance & supervision from the SPO & Television and Video Production staff on all assigned projects. Candidates must be client service-oriented, have good communication skills, and be a team player. Quality and integrity of projects must be maintained at all times.

Responsibilities

  • Attend weekly production meetings
  • Work assigned weekly schedule
  • Follow all SPO policies & procedures
  • Assist the Television & Video Services, Tri-C Film Academy and Student Equipment Services staff
  • Perform duties as assigned by project manager
  • Meet assignment deadlines

Preferred Qualifications

  • Declared major in Creative Arts or experience in motion media creation
  • Flexible, reliable and able to work independently or as part of a team
  • Understanding of the video production process
  • Have strong visual composition & screen design skills
  • Proficiency with digital video camera operation,3 point lighting, or location audio
  • Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite
  • Must be on time, professional, willing to learn and be flexible

Program Requirements

  • Must be enrolled in current semester (Spring 2025)
  • Must enroll in a minimum of one Summer 2025 course
  • Must be returning to Tri-C for Fall 2025 Semester
  • Must have a declared major on record

This position is part of the Cuyahoga Community College Summer Internship Program.
