Intern, Healthcare Admin (Temporary-Edison)

The Intern, Healthcare Admin will provide support to administrative hospital leadership teams with the Hackensack Meridian Health network. The intern will shadow hospital leadership and work on projects in assigned areas. Through rotations, the intern will have the opportunity to learn what is needed to become an administrative leader in healthcare. The intern will be exposed to healthcare operations, and the full continuum of hospitals and services, medical groups, ambulatory care network, and community service.

Responsibilities

A day in the life of a Intern, Healthcare Admin at Hackensack Meridian Health includes:

1. Supports hospital leadership teams by contributing to initiative and project deliverables.

2. Spends time in a specific service line, department and/or specialty area, and contributes to various assignments under the direction of a leader.

3. Supports operational needs through data analysis, interpretation, and presentation.

4. Rounds with leadership to identify opportunities for a better patient experience.

5. Participates in meetings with department leaders and team members to further understand hospital operations.

6. Other duties and/or projects as assigned.

7. Adheres to HMH Organizational competencies and standards of behavior.

Qualifications

Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:

1. Undergraduate students pursuing a bachelor's degree (must be entering junior or senior year).

2. Proficient with the computer applications.

3. Strong communication, public speaking, and customer service skills.

4. Conscientious self starter with good organizational skills.

Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Preferred:

1. Undergrad business courses.

2. Community service experience.
