Truckload Pricing Internship
Job Summary
The Truckload Pricing Internship will provide hands-on experience in the logistics industry, with a specific focus on truckload pricing and market analysis. This internship will support the company's global pricing efforts by analyzing market data, developing pricing strategies, and maintaining pricing agreements. The intern will also collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure competitive pricing models that drive business growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in collecting and analyzing market data to inform pricing strategies, helping the company stay competitive in truckload services (dry, flatbed, and refrigerated).
- Support the development of pricing models and methodologies to determine optimal pricing levels, fostering new business opportunities.
- Conduct competitor research to stay informed on market trends, economic changes, and industry shifts.
- Work closely with sales teams and senior leadership to execute formal pricing requests (RFPs) and analyze both new and current business.
- Participate in RFP presentations, providing technical support and assisting in Q&A sessions with clients.
- Upload and maintain rate agreements and contracts in the Transportation Management System (TMS).
- Support cross-functional teams in communicating pricing strategies and results to internal decision-makers and prospective/current customers.
- Perform additional duties as assigned to support pricing initiatives and continuous improvement.
Skills & Experience
- Market Research - Collect and analyze data on current market trends, pricing strategies of competitors, and customer behavior to inform pricing decisions
- Pricing Strategy - Develop and implement pricing strategies to maximize profitability while remaining competitive in the market.
- Price Optimization - Analyze historical market trends and pricing data to identify areas where pricing adjustments could lead to improved profitability.
- Data Analysis - Analyze data on transportation costs, fuel surcharges, and other cost drivers to understand the impact of these factors on pricing.
- Process Improvement - Identify areas of the pricing process that can be streamlined or improved to increase efficiency and accuracy.

Working Conditions

- Hours are 8 AM to 5 PM, Monday through Friday in office.
