Work Arrangement:
Hybrid: This role is categorized as hybrid. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to GM Tech Center in Warren, MI three times per week, at minimum.
The Team:
The Global Long-Term Forecasting Team seeks an ambitious and thoughtful Analyst. The Analyst will contribute to GM’s strategic decision-making by providing logical and data-driven sales forecasts. What You’ll Do:
Learn and master Global Long-Term Forecasting team’s toolsets to provide data-driven, fact-based vehicle sales forecast.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop forecasts with the most comprehensive perspectives.
Take ownership of vehicle sales forecasts within select vehicle segments.
Provide forecast updates to support business plans, quarterly updates and GVDP gates.
Collaborate with global forecasters to ensure highest quality forecast for all markets.
Ensure seamless process between short-term and long-term forecasting.
Conduct strategic ad hoc analyses and prepare clear and succinct reports/presentations.
Use data visualization tools to deduce clear and compelling insights.
This position requires great attention to details, creative problem-solving, sound judgment, flexibility, and ability to see the big picture despite ambiguity in the future business environment.
Additional Job Description
Required Qualifications:
Pursuit of a Master’s degree in one of the following areas: Economics, Marketing, Mathematics, Finance, Engineering, Behavior Sciences, or related fields
Must be graduating between December 2025 and June 2026
Able to work fulltime, 40 hours per week
What will give you a Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications):
Experience with Python, R, or other programming languages.
Strong strategic thinking ability to connect the dots and forecast the automotive trends.
Enjoy solving the most intractable forecasting problems and dealing with ambiguity.
Automotive industry knowledge, including competitor activities and industry trends.
Advanced level of Excel and PowerPoint.
An agile analytical mindset with outstanding quantitative skills.
Cross-functional experience and cross-cultural awareness.
Knowledge of GM vehicle portfolio.
Familiarity with data visualization tools, such as Tableau and Power BI (preferred).
2+ years’ functional experience in Forecasting, Market Analysis, Marketing, Planning, Research, Sales, and/or Finance.
Start dates for this internship role are May of 2025.
Compensation:
The salary range for this role is $4,800 - $6,700 monthly, dependent upon class status and degree.
GM will provide a one-time lump sum taxable stipend payment to eligible students selected for the 2025 Student Program.
