Social Media and Marketing Assistant - Global Campus
BASIC FUNCTION AND RESPONSIBILITY:
The Social Media and Marketing Student Assistant's primary role will be assisting the Global Campus (part of the Extended Learning and Community Engagement Division) in creating and collecting content for social media and developing a content posting calendar and archive. This position will also share front office responsibilities with another student worker, which will include answering the front office phone and some light administrative work, i.e. filing, printing, scanning, and stuffing envelopes. This position will have a flexible schedule with approximately 10-20 hours per week.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Research and create content for Global Campus social media accounts, including Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram, and YouTube
- Assist in maintaining an archiving system for content
- Assist in maintaining a content posting calendar
- Design marketing collateral including slideshows, fliers, and digital ads
- Preparing inquiry and admitted mailing packets
- Schedule and conduct interviews with current and past Global Campus students
- Capture original photographs and/or video content
- Perform other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Design background using Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, or other similar programs
- Interest in social media marketing
- Customer relations/service experience
- Above-average communication skills – writing, speaking, and listening.
- Familiar with distance education or non-traditional students.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team managing multiple concurrent projects
ADDITIONAL DESIRED SKILLS (NOT REQUIRED)
- Graphic design experience
- Basic photography skills including editing, cropping, and capturing photos
- Videography experience
