Benson Public Schools is in search of a dedicated, energetic full-time secondary Band Director to join our team for the 2025-26 academic year. Ideal candidate will bring creative energy and vision to developing and enhancing our music program for both students in the program and for the enrichment of the school community.
Job Summary: This position directs and manages the overall program of instrumental music for the Benson Public schools. Provides students with an opportunity to participate in extracurricular band activities and ensures compliance with all state and district requirements. Plans activities to achieve district, region, and state recognition.
Key Responsibilities:
- Instructional Delivery: Plan and use appropriate instructional and learning strategies, activities, materials, and equipment that reflect understanding of the learning styles and needs of students assigned.
- Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of student attendance, grades, and academic progress using the school’s designated systems.
- Curriculum & Professional Development: Actively participate in curriculum development, attend in-service training, and engage in ongoing professional development to enhance teaching practices.
- Collaboration & Communication: Collaborate with fellow educators and staff members to improve student success, contribute to departmental meetings, and attend parent-teacher conferences to strengthen school-community relationships.
- Student Support: Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment by actively supporting students academically and socially. Assist with student supervision duties as directed by the Principal.
- Adherence to Policies: Follow all school district policies and procedures to maintain a safe and respectful learning environment.
- Support the Principal with student supervision duties.
