This position is hybrid. Most work is remote with some in person requirements. Must have reliable transportation.

Who We Are
The Thriving Initiative is a 501(c)(3) non-profit focused on creating safe, accessible, and effective programs to help survivors of sexual assault, stalking, and domestic violence heal from trauma. Serving college campuses like UC Santa Barbara and Santa Barbara City College, we’re a passionate, close-knit team dedicated to making a meaningful impact. Who We’re Looking For
We’re seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Administrative Assistant to support our operations, events, and team. Ideal candidates will have 1-2 years of administrative experience, strong communication skills, high integrity, and a passion for supporting survivors of interpersonal violence. Proficiency in Google Workspace, Microsoft Office, and CRM systems is preferred, as well as a proactive approach to balancing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. A commitment to confidentiality, cultural awareness, and the mission of The Thriving Initiative is essential.
What You’ll Do
- Data & Administrative Support: Maintain databases, update records, generate reports, and assist the Executive Director and Program Manager with scheduling, document organization, and correspondence. Develop and maintain SOPs for administrative tasks to ensure consistency and efficiency.
- Communications & Volunteer Engagement: Manage contact lists, handle some internal and external communications, track volunteer hours, maintain directories, and help coordinate recognition efforts. Document processes and best practices to improve volunteer management and communications.
- Event & Project Coordination: Support planning and logistics for events, meetings, and trainings, including materials preparation, guest coordination, and on-site or virtual assistance. Collaborate with the team to execute special projects.
