Director of Banquet Operations

We help others understand and use trees as a solution to global issues (like air quality, water quality, climate change, deforestation, poverty, and hunger) that are critical to survival.

Arbor Day Farm is the 260-acre property owned and operated by the Arbor Day Foundation where our mission comes to life.

You Have:

  • Experience and passion. When it comes to providing world-class service to both internal and external guests, our ideal candidate has at least two years of experience leading events and banquets.
  • Leadership skills. A proven ability to select, train, support, and develop supervisors and front-line staff.
  • Technology aptitude. Broad and in-depth understanding of technology in a conference center capacity.
  • Positive energy. A hands-on team player with a proven track record of translating ideas into effective action.
  • Consistency. Ability to work a flexible schedule, as business levels require; including daytime, evenings, most weekends, and all major holidays.
  • Attention to detail. Your ability to see how all of the small things matter when putting on large events.
  • Outstanding communication skills. Whether it be written or verbal, this comes naturally to you.

You Will:

  • Supervise. Establish training plans, engage team members, manage the budget, staffing, and inventory.
  • Interpret. Review Banquet Event Orders (BEOs), attend and participate in weekly BEO meetings.
  • Coordinate. Executing all special events including major holidays, on and off property. Facilitating transitions seamlessly.
  • Build relationships. Work with all internal and external customers in a professional and courteous manner, creating and honoring relationships to encourage return visits
  • Achieve. You work diligently to maintain positive guest satisfaction scores and continually improve processes.
  • Inform. You stay on top of technology trends and create purchasing plans for constant improvement.
  • Calculate. Ability to post all banquet/catering events checks/tickets immediately after each event.
