The Erie Public Health Fellow II will work in Program and Organizational Management, focusing on nutrition and food security. The fellow will support all day-to-day Food Policy Council (FPC) activities by:
- Providing support to the full FPC and its committees
- Preparing, attending, and supporting monthly FPC, committee, and working group meetings and follow up actions
- Working directly with the Executive Committee and Action Planning Committee to track the implementation of the FPC Strategic Plan and Local Food Action Plan
- Assisting the Executive Committee in the creation of presentation content for outreach and communications to elected officials and other community leaders
- Creating content for FPC social media platforms and website
- Building and maintaining surveys, datasets, and resource lists
- Assisting with planning and conducting community engagement efforts as needed (including events, survey design and analysis, focus group facilitation)
- Responding to public inquiries and assist in engaging stakeholders and community members on food systems issues as needed
- Researching relevant food policy news and issues of interest to Buffalo, Erie County, and New York State, and create policy briefs where needed
Minimum Qualifications
At least one of the following:

- Two years of experience within a health, public health, education, human services, community-based organization, or institutional setting
- Two years of experience in administrative, personnel, fiscal, or other related operational activity
- Bachelor's degree
- Strong organizational, communication, and analytical skills, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Proficiency with computers, including word processing, email, data entry, using spreadsheets and databases, and creating presentations.
- Critical thinking and sound judgment.
- A flexible, adaptive, and composed attitude with the ability to interact professionally with culturally diverse individuals.
- Phenomenal work ethic with a positive attitude.
- Employment is contingent on completion of a background check.
- Must be able to meet position requirements, including reporting for onsite work or local travel as required.
