Box Office Administrator
Under general administrative direction, responsible for overseeing the strategic management of the box office operations across multiple venues or large-scale events. Working conditions are primarily inside an office environment with frequent exposure to field activities. Exercises direct supervision over assigned staff.

Essential Job Functions
- Develop and execute long-term strategies to enhance ticket sales, revenue generation, and operational
- Provide comprehensive reports and analyses to executive leadership highlighting key performance indicators and strategic insights
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of implemented strategies and make adjustments as needed to achieve organizational goals.
- Collaborate with the marketing team to create targeted campaigns and promotions.
- Ensures event presales, on-sales, promotions, discounts, and special sales coordinated with event promoters and/or their representatives are correctly set up in the ticketing system; ensures ticket inventory and placement of holds are correct.
- Oversees the development of event pricing, scaling plans, manifest creation and pricing structure that meets the promoter's ticket representative/staff expectations.
- Represents the City of San Antonio meetings, events, conferences, and networking functions to stay informed of industry trends and developments
- Build and maintain relationships with external stakeholders, including event promoters, sponsors, and vendors.
- Provide comprehensive reports and analyses to executive leadership, highlighting key performance indicators and strategic insights.
- Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis for box office operations, ensuring fiscal responsibility and profitability.
- Lead and mentor a team of box office managers and senior staff, fostering a culture of excellence and innovation.
- Negotiation of contracts.
- Performs related duties and fulfills responsibilities as required.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university
- Seven (7) years of increasingly responsible experience in coliseum, arena, auditorium, theatre or stadium box office operations with major sports and entertainment facilities experience to include three (3) years of management or supervisory responsibility
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Knowledge of professional and major amateur sports and entertainment events
- Knowledge of ticket selling and box office operations
- Knowledge of basic accounting principles and procedures
- Knowledge of computerized ticketing systems
- Knowledge of principles and practices of supervision, training, and personnel management
- Skill in utilizing a personal computer and associated software programs
- Ability to operate a computer keyboard and other basic office equipment
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively
- Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with management, co-workers and the public
- Ability to perform all the essential functions of the position, with or without accommodations
- Ability to work primarily in an office environment
