About the Position:

Under the direction of the Branch Chief of Incident Management & Traveler Information, a Senior Transportation Engineer (Supervisor), the incumbent, a Transportation Engineer (Civil) serves as the Traffic Management Team (TMT)/Traffic Incident Management (TIM) Support Engineer in the Incident Management & Traveler Information (TI) Branch. The incumbent is responsible for guidance development, training, policies, and procedures that improve traveler information functions and incident management operations on state highways. The incumbent also provides functional direction and engineering consultation to districts staff to resolve conflicting issues related to Caltrans' policies and procedures associated with highway operations. The incumbent supports contract management and project management as needed and collaborates with internal staff and external agencies, research institutes, and the private sector to accomplish program objectives.
