Systems Support Analyst

The City of Henderson announces an examination to create an eligibility list and to fill multiple vacancies for the classification of Systems Support Analyst in the Department of Information Technology. This classification also exists in the Department of Utility Services. The eligibility list may be utilized to fill vacancies for this classification for up to one (1) year.

Under general supervision, performs simple to moderate systems analysis, architecture, engineering, management and operations work in support of mission critical and citywide technology systems; performs related duties as assigned.

Please Note: While the current Systems Support Analyst vacancies are within the Department of Information Technology, the list that is established may be used to fill vacancies in other departments across the City of Henderson. 

This is the entry level position of the System Support Analyst job series. 
 

  • Implementing and Supporting Software Systems in an enterprise environment
  • Troubleshooting technical environments including OS, network, and system software
  • Has a solid understanding of the Windows Operating system and exposure to what applications need to work (database, network connectivity, etc.)
  • Is a self-motivated people person with great technical skills who wants to make a continuously remarkable contribution to our team
  • Is excellent at customer service and follows up with customers to ensure they are satisfied
  • Is interested in finding the root cause of issues rather than just addressing symptoms
  • Is skilled in implementing project initiatives as both a project lead and a technical lead
  • Is skilled in relationship management and works very well with people in a team construct and individually
  • Actively cross trains with other, designated members of the team to provide for backup support

Salary and Benefits

  • Competitive Salary Range of $36.77 - $55.15 hourly; salary placement for non-represented positions is based on a comprehensive compensation review and takes into consideration the candidate's qualifications as well as internal equity

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a closely related field
  • Two (2) years of experience in design, implementation, and support of enterprise-level systems and/or custom software development.
  • Note: An equivalent combination of related training and experience may be considered
  • Must pass a nationwide fingerprint-based record check, and a wants/warrants check.
  • Must complete Security Awareness and National Crime Information Center (NCIC)/Nevada Criminal Justice Information System (NCJIS) certification within six months of hire/transfer and be recertified every two years. Must maintain certifications in NCIC/NCJIS as a condition of continued employment.
  • Technical certifications related to specific job duties of assigned area may be required.
